Hello, I'm Jamie, a third-year doctoral student in clinical psychology at The Chicago School. I am excited to join the re+active team, where I look forward to supporting clients' rehabilitative journeys. My approach to care is rooted in understanding the intricate connection between the body and mind, guiding me to provide holistic, evidence-based support to individuals navigating both psychological and physical challenges.

My academic and clinical interests are centered around neurological and vestibular illnesses. I am particularly passionate about the relationship between emotional regulation and vestibular vertigo, as well as resilience factors and their impact on symptom severity. I believe this is an incredibly important area of research as it allows for the development of tailored interventions to improve the quality of life for individuals living with vestibular disorders.

Throughout my training, I have honed my treatment skills in addiction, trauma, and eating disorders, recognizing the profound impact these issues have on individuals' lives. I have also volunteered with crisis services, offering crucial support during clients' most challenging moments. My therapeutic approach emphasizes the exploration of clients' unique perspectives and the intersectionality of their diversity factors. My intentions are to provide collaborative, culturally responsive care that integrates evidence-based practices and achieves individually meaningful outcomes.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, long-distance running, and spending quality time with my life partner and our two playful cats, Captain and Emmitt. These activities not only provide a break from my academic and clinical focus but also bring balance and joy to my life.
